As this new record is not in any of the “Selected” categories, it will not be available until you choose to display “All Records”

The “In Selected Categories” item is selected in the “Display & Use” menu.

The period & space after Smith will allow the name flip to work for printing and exporting.
Command/Option-F will test the flip.
Just F to flip in the View Record Window.

Click or start typing the name to clear screen.
Curly brackets can hide text when printing if turned it on in the Preferences.
